Thank you all for the information. I do not have a middle name for Joseph. As for if he was with the Confederates I have a hand written letter by his son, my great grandfather that states he joined the Confederates. I just assume it was with an Alabama Unit as he married in Alabama a year or so before that. My g-grandfather states that he was about 1 yr old when his father was killed at the battle of 7 Pines.
That's about all I know.
