Need help on clarification of pension classes. Am finding Class 2 and Class 4 in some of my 1984 notes for materials gathered in Choctaw Co., Alabama. Am inferring that class designation had to do with eligibility and ineligibility based on set criteria--perhaps too much taxable property or not old enough or not honorably discharged or ???

Questions:
1) Were there Classes 1 and 3?
2) What did each class mean?
