Fred,
I have quite a bit of information concerning Cpt. Riley. My ggg-grandfather, Alex McInnis, was in his company. He was born in 1840, and living, after the war in Riley's Crossing (Crossroads), near Beatrice, AL. Riley was involved in banking after the war and was quite a character. I have copies of photos of him at one of Co. C's reunions. I also have copies of letters that he sent during the early stages of the war. His old homeplace is still standing and his grave is located nearby at the family cemetery. A confederate battleflag flies on the iron gate entrance to his resting place. The person responsible for the Monroe County Heritage Museum in Monroeville, AL is writing a book on Cpt. Riley. I will try to find her email address and send that to you. If you want to contact me directly my email address is: thcrab@bellsouth.net
