Civil War Preservation Trust

David,
I'm a new member of Civil War Preservation Trust and would love to help. Not an expert, but Selma (and Ebenezer Church) would certainly rank as among the most important battles to occur in Alabama, and significant on a national scale as well. CWPT is currently taking nominations for their 2002 endangered battlefields list. We could begin by seeing one or both of these win that honor.

I was not aware so much of Selma's works remained intact, but agree with everyone that it would be of great interest to many to turn such a site into a battlefield park. Selma residents without an interest in the war would be interested in the tourist dollars such a project might attract. Please let me know if I can help.

I would love to tour the sites of both battles.
