Your Benj. F. Perry was the 1st Lieutenant of 1st Company H, 6th Ala. Inf, Regt., 1861-62. The company reorganized as 2nd Company C of the 6th Ala., but Perry was not re-elected. May have continued as a private in that unit? DO NOT confuse him with the Benjamin Franklin Perry, Chaplain, 37th Ala. Inf. Regt., who was a separate individual (1836 -1868).
