Confederate Records at Birmingham Public Library

It's been awhile since it has been mentioned on the message board so I thought I might let the newcomers know that the Southern History Department of the Birmingham Public Library
downtown branch has quite a bit of information on Confederate Troops. They have all of the Alabama Service Records, All of the records for Units raised by the Confederate Goverment, the Alabama Pension records. the 1907 Census of Confederate Soldiers living in Alabama and much more. They also have books on many states of than Alabama as well as the census records for most of the southern states.
One really good thing is they're open on week-ends. Here are thier hours.
Monday and Tusday 9A.M. - 8P.M.

Wednesday thru Friday 9A.M.-6P.M.

Saturday 10A.M.-6P.M.

Sunday 2P.M. - 6P.M.

Ms Crumpler is very helpful. As a matter of fact the whole staff is just great.
If you get a chance check it out.
