All of the members of the original Prattville Dragoons did not go with the unit to the 3rd Alabama Cavalry. About a dozen, including 3rd Lt. Adam Felder and Clinton Thompson went to Co. K, 53rd Alabama Cavalry. Felder became Captain of Co. K, and Thompson was killed at Thompson's Station, TN on March 3, 1865 while serving with the 53rd.
