Susan, thanks for the offer on the photo. I am from Mississippi so the Alabama monument does not mean that much to me. Please folks do not misunderstand that statement. It is NOT a slur. I am searching for the grave of Richard B. Pittman of the 7th Miss. Family story states he is "buried in a National Cemetery near the battlefield." He is not listed in Marietta, Ga. Any help regarding the burials of this battle is greatly appreciated.

I also had the chance to visit the battlefield. I was just amazed to be in the same place where my grandfather died. Suggest you visit Vicksburg Battlefield. There were a lot of Alabama boys fighting there also.
