Am interested in any data or sources which document MS refugees being in Alabama.

Have received a CSR for a MS soldier relative whose primary family resided in middle MS and whose wife and children also resided there. However, one page of the CSR gives his P. O. as Barrytown, Alabama, which is the general area where tons of his first cousins resided. Makes me wonder if the MS family fled to AL as a consequence of the fighting around Yazoo, Madison, Holmes,and Attala counties.

Any insight appreciated.
