"The long walk home from Appomattox"

I maintain a tribute site to the 5th Alabama Infantry Battalion (Archer's Brigade, ANV). On the site is William Frierson Fulton's "FAMILY RECORD AND WAR REMINISCENCES". CHAPTER XVIII, "Journey on Foot" is a day-by-day journal Fulton kept as he and a small group of men, including my wife's gg-grandfather, walked from Appomattox to Livingston, AL. It's my favorite part of the book and I think anyone who wants to know about how the Confederate soldiers got home and what they encountered and saw along the way would enjoy reading it.
