On the 58th Alabama, check message board archives for that name as well as 9th Alabama Infantry Battalion. The unit was called Blount's Battalion up until April 1862, then broken up and scattered among companies of the 18th Alabama. These were reassembled at Mobile in March 1863 and the command sent to Tennessee as the 9th Battalion. They fought at Chickamauga as the 9th Battalion.
