Please excuse a beginners zeal and ignorance but I am trying to track down a site that gives roster listings for companies that came out of Northeast Alabama, particularly Dekalb and Jackson Counties. Does any such thing exist or am I hoping in vain? Can anyone point me to a starting point? Im looking for my ancestor, William Lackey b 1831 married to Nancy Reynolds. They were married in 1853 and lived in Jackson and Dekalb Co, Ala. Thank you.
