As far as I can tell from reading "The Story of Coal and Iron in Alabama" the only Alabama coal mine accessed by rail during the WBTS was the Billy Gould Coal Mine on the Cahaba river near Helena. It was accessed by spur from South & North RR. Does anyone know of any other slope mines directly accessed by rail during the war?
