I have only found three John Patterson's in Tallapoosa County during this time period.

One was John Ledford. Another was John Graham. And, the third was his son John Love Patterson. It is unknown if John Ledford was related.

I have found a John in the 1st Ala. Inf., Co. A [originally Co. F of the 1st Ala. Inf. formed from AVC companies]: Patterson, John - Private. Wounded during the Atlanta Campaign. This could be any one of the three.

A second is John L. Patterson, pvt., 1st Al. Inf. Co. I. This could be Ledford or Love. It is also possible that this is the same John who was in Co. A.
