I ve read an article by Gene Cantrell and one by Anna Hite(- - Gay Familyand Relatives) I'm looking for records of my great grandfather Cyrus Spurgeon Couch. Anna records that he enlisted in Falkville Al. in theC.S.A. I have yet to see his name on an enlisted mens roster. Anna writes that his unit was the 5th Al.Cavalry Regiment. Does anyone have any information? I have submitted his name to the Alabama State Archives. He was from Vinemont.Al. in Cullman county and is buried at Flint Creek BaptistChurch Cemetery. He is well documented on the internet, seeJacob Couch of Greene CountyTenn. and also the Couch BRothers Genealogy Pages.
I am very interested in his war records.
Mother told me that once the barn burned and they found what they think was the remains of anotherCSA soldier. Also I would like to qualify as a Daughter of the Confederacy.
