"Terminology and concepts

Angle Fighting
There are two different styles or trains of thought when it comes to air combat in Skyfighters. The first is "angle fighting" Angle fighting is where you make every attempt to get on your oppenent's tail and stay there, filling him full of lead. There are many advanced concepts in angle fighting, inclucing such esoteric sounding things as 'lag pursuit' and 'Force overshoots.' Angle fighting is the primary style of fighting that most people think about when they picture a dogfight...the twisting and turning, rapid reversing and high-G turns."

Angle Fighting is also a term used in the martial arts.

I am not aware of this term being used by Civil War era ground troops.
