The Association for Preservation of Civil War Sites lists as targeted for preservation only the 7 battlefields in Alabama identified by 1993 Congressional Commission. 4 of these are described as opportunity lost. The Commission includes Gen. Roddey's attack at Athens in early 1864. Isn't Gen. Forrest's attack at Athens in 9/64 far more significant? Shouldn't battles such as Chehaw, Ebenezer Church, Girard, &c. be included?
