In Response To: Civil War Bowie Knife ()

I don't know specifics about T. L. Pruitt except that he served in the 56th Alabama Cavalry, and was a blacksmith. Apparently, he made an unknown number of large bowie knives that were stamped with his name. I have heard of others besides the one that recently showed up on eBay. That one was very, very similar to a bowie knife made for my great grandfather (who served in the 53rd Alabama Cavalry) by a blacksmith in Ramer in Montgomery Co. in 1862.
