Alan
Thanks so much for the info and guidance. Would love to get the information that you have and a copy of your paper. I have seen the log book in Montgomery and noticed that my great great grandfather is listed as guarding fellow troopers in the stockade (to inlcude his own brother). Great stuff. I had two great great grandfathers in the Regiment (one was the acting surgeon)
I had not heard of the card incident but that is just the sort of thing that I am looking for.
I agree that to make the history come to life, I will certianly have to track the Brigade's movements through the OR and other related sources. I was inspired to write about the regiment after I read the book, "Cracker Cavaliers" by John Poole (about the 2nd Georgia Cavalry). Poole tracked much of the regiment's activities via the Brigade also.

PS Any interest in helping me do research? I do have some funds (and/or Confederate artifacts) for research efforts. Perhaps you can contact me directly on my email jaddicott@stmarytx.edu so we can talk. Very Respectfully, Jeff Addicott
