Sunday night after church a reenactor friend who just returned from filming at Harpers Ferry told me about his family's experiences as extras on this film set. Tom and his wife have teen-age daughters who came along in period dress and enjoyed themselves.

Film directors seem preoccupied with historical accuracy. For instance, reenactors who arrived on the First Manassas set wearing shell jackets couldn't participate in close-up shots since these were not issued until after the battle.

I was impressed with Tom's photographs from the trip as well as his entire family's interest and enthusiasm.
