It reads like a typical company meeting announcement; no doubt the same notice ran in the Huntsville news. The flag design seems a little out of place, but the date doesn't. The company was accepted in state service at Huntsville, Alabama, April 26, 1861, and company left for Dalton, Georgia, three days later. Its first captain was Egbert J. Jones.
