Captain J. B. Perkins commanded Co. G of the 38th Alabama Inf. until his death on Oct. 10, 1863. His claim was filed by M. A. Perkins, widow. Co. G was from Mobile with a few Coosa County men. There were a number of Perkins men in the 43rd Ala. Inf. from Marengo County. Pvts. Allen Perkins, Cicero E. Perkins, Pvt./Sgt. Doctor A. Perkins, Pvt.William Perkins, Pvt. Henry A. Perkins was from Chambers County. I hope this is of some help even if not the 36th. Art Green.
