While doing some family history work this afternoon in Talladega County, we stumbled across a roadside monument in Munford, AL with the inscription "A. J. Buttram, COnfederate Soldier, killed here on April 23, 1865, during Croxton's Raid."
Does anyone have any information about who this man was?, what unit he served with? Croxton's activity in Talladega County?
