Interesting article. But, there is an apparent typo that I cannot make sense of. In the fifth paragraph of the Confederate account, there is this statement, "there is a slab marking the spot of the githt", and the same word is repeated in the letter, second paragraph from the end, "the brigade would move out and the githt be made on that line". Is that typo in the original article? I'm unable to figure out what might be the correct word and I am curious.
