Let me say first....cool BB....lots of info.

I found out that my Great-Grandfather was in the Al. 31st Inf. Regiment that went to Vicksburg. I know he was wounded, but he did survive. I know he joined early in the war and was discharged at the end. Anybody familiar with what happened to these guys? Loss percentages? Where and what happened after?

I am a history buff, but my knowledge on the War Between the States is soarly lacking.

Any information would help. Thanks.
