This was a Heritage auction = www.ha.com. EBay bidders could participate in the auction for this lot. In addition to bids from those present in the room, other bids for each lot arrived via web (Ebay was one source), fax, phone and mail.

With all due respect, you can't judge a book by its cover. The album cover shows wear ["Moroccan leather albums have separated at the bindings"], but buyers were interested in the cartes-de-visite in the book, especially the signed cards ["photographs are in excellent condition with the handwriting strong and distinct"].
