Seeking information about:
1. a US Army Hospital in Bridgport, AL in 1864, and/or
2. a Civil War cemetery in the area, and/or
3. illinois units involved in battles in the area.

I'm looking for information about an Illinois soldier (probably Union) who died there. My information comes from a Morgan County, IL probate record (# 2383) filed by his wife:

Thompson, George deceased; Eliza A Thompson exec;
died at Bridge Port, Ala in the US Hospital around May 1, 1864. Eliza A Thompson, widow.
