Re: Another Burial-- Drummer, David C. MOORE

Ken,

Thanks for the information!

I agree that David C. MOORE was a little old to be characterized as "A Drummer Boy of the Civil War"; however,
I'm assuming that was carved on the tombstone.

Have an 1880 census CD and located what MAY BE additional information regarding this person, even though the age is off a year:
Census Place: Beaver Meadow, Mobile, Alabama
Source: FHL Film 1254024 National Archives Film T9-0024 Page 27A
David MOORE---Self--Male--Married--White--Age 43--Occ. Laborer--Born MS--Father Born MS--Mother Born VA
His wife Mattie was 25, born AL
Two MOORE children are listed just below but separately on this CD (??).

In looking at David MOORE's neighbors at Beaver Meadow (a name I've never seen), Mobile, Alabama, it appears this is the same location that subsequently became Gulfcrest.

This may point to an Alabama or a MS unit for him.
