Re: Inter-Library Loan

Everyone should become familiar with interlibrary loan (ILL). This usually free service is available from virtually all local libraries. You can request books or periodical articles by filling out an ILL form and handing it in to the library service desk. Takes from a few days to a few weeks, but the point is that you have access to virtually anything that has ever been printed.

Exceptions to this general availability rule are non-circulating works (generally rare, fragile, reference, or current materials) and many genealogical or other works that are in high demand at the lending library. But, it functions pretty well in most cases. Give it a try!
