I sincerely appreciate all the help on James D. Harp. My wife has another ancestor who was also indicated to have served in the 4th Alabama Cavalry. He is Absolem Wood. He, too, lived in Tishomingo County, Mississippi which borders Franklin, County, Alabama.

Absolem Wood was born in Alabama in about 1817 or 1818. He survived the war and is buried at Lindsey Cemetery in Belmont, Mississippi.
