Company "B" was from Tallapoosa County, organizing at Loachapoka, Alabama, April 7, 1862, as the "Tallapoosa Light Infantry". Here's some information about company captains:

Joseph Johnston, Jr. Wounded on July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; died of wounds there July 19, 1863.
Thomas J. McDonald, Jr. Wounded on July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Appointed Captain on August 10, 1863. Surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse, Virginia, April 9, 1865.

Here's a list of publications about the regiment. The letters of Capt. (later Major) James M. Campbell, who was killed on May 14, 1864, are particularly interesting:
