If Benjamin was living in an Alabama county when he applied for a pension, it should be on file at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. The same is true for his wife if she survived him and applied. So be sure to ask about any pension application that he or his wife (and give her name) may have made. I ordered my great grandfather's and his widow's in the '70s.
