Russ --

The soldier's military service file is a more reliable source than the pension alone. Andrew J. Bobo's file includes a set of extra duty payments as a teamster, so for that reason he wouldn't have been with his regiment at Chickamauga or Missionary Ridge. He may have missed other actions for that reason. The Battle of Nashville took place long after his capture at Utoy Creek near Atlanta GA, Aug. 3, 1864. Also, Andrew J. Bobo wasn' release on exchange until Mar. 27, 1865, Boulwares Wharf, James River VA. If healthy enough to travel, exchanged prisoners always went home on furlough. In any case, AJB was being transported from Camp Chase during the fighting at Bentonville NC.
