Need help on a tough one!

James H. Gardner, 46th Alabama Infantry, died at a CSA hospital in Strawberry Plains, Tn. (15 miles NE of Knoxville). Family did not retrieve body thus no one knows where he was buried. I've done my feeble best searching the archives and even drove from Daphne to Strawberry Plains and talked to the "locals"...even a guy they called "The Judge" (A retired Tennessee supreme court judge!)who I knocked on his door and woke up!. Not much help there either. They did direct me to a cemetery full of unknowns, just one large marker stating: "here's a bunch of unknowns"! Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to mark the grave.
