Bullock was created out of Pike, Barbour and Macon (Midway was in Barbour, and Union Springs in Macon County in 1860). Years ago my business placed me on the road from Perote to Banks, Louisville and Clayton, much of the time on County Road 44 in and around Josie. That experience prompted my thesis topic on Confederate soldiers from Barbour County.
