Wondering if anyone has information on how the 13th Al Infantry traveled from Montgomery to Virginia in July 1861. The company mustered out of Montgomery in early July and ended up in Yorktown, Va. I assume they traveled by train, but I am looking for confirmation on that and details of the trip, if anyone has it. What train lines/routes did they take, how long did it take, were there points they would have had to march instead of ride trains? Etc. I would be interested in educated guesses if there is nothing definitive. What would be the best source for this kind of detail, if it is available? Thanks for the help.
