Hopefully you saw my response on Confederate battlefield markers.

With regard to images, I've acquired dozens of pictures of ancestors via Ancestry. All that has been neessary has been to link an ancestor's page in my tree to that of the same ancestor in trees created by other people. If it makes sense for other people who are related to you to have pictures of common ancestors, this is an easy way of getting copies.

The picture below is that of George Washington Tucker (1826-1904), a resident of Perry County Alabama in 1860. I don't see a Confederate service file for him and suppose he may have been a civil official. This image was probably taken in Marion before the war.
