According to maps from a seminar on the Second Day given by the Battlefield Guides, the 48th AL advanced on the other side of the Plum Run from where you were standing and continued to a position to the left of the 4th Texas as the initial assault was made against LRT. The 48th AL then hit the flank of the 16th Michigan.
