Thank you sir for getting back to me so quickly. I am for certain he fought in an Alabama regiment. I have another great great uncle who joined him in Alabama after he escaped from custody in Vicksburg. He wouldn't sign the oath of allegiance to the U.S. and they arrested him and tried to send him up North to a prison camp. His name was Joshua Earl Preston and was a Sgt. Major in one of the Alabama Regiments. If I can find out which one, I may be able to learn more about his brother, William Booker Preston. I read somewhere that he was possibly wounded and/or killed in South Carolina, but, have know idea if this is him or not. My Family Geneoloy records say he was a Captain? My immediate family had six brothers who served with the Confederacy. Three were killed and three survived. I don't know how to research yet, but, I'm going to learn. Again, thank you so much for the information.

Sincerely,

Johnny Preston
