My relative, James H(enry) Pinckard, enlisted as a Private in the 14th ALA Inf...I have found records indicating he was wounded (date corresponds with the Battle of Gaines Mill in 1862). I'm assuming he was transported to Chimborazo Hospital for treatment? He was from Chambers County, AL and did survive the War for I know he married his wife, Cynthia Treadwell once he returned to the Stroud, AL area in August of 1866. Does anyone know where I can find information on the hospital records or what engagements Co D of the 14th Infantry were involved in? Many thanks!
