As reported on Feb. 18th, the 5th Georgia Regiment had been sent from Pensacola to Knoxville. Vol X p 376 notes this regiment's presence at Cumberland Gap. It was ordered to Chattanooga on Mar 31st. Same volume pp. 405-406 and 409 shows the 5th Georgia at Bridgeport AL on April 9th when Maxey received orders to take his command to Corinth. At this time Maxey's command also included the 41st Georgia and 24th Mississippi. It does not appear that Kain's Tennessee Battery of Maxey's command went to Corinth with the infantry.
