Re: 48th AL at Gettysburg
In Response To: 48th AL at Gettysburg ()

I don't know if you will get this since it has been over a year but I had to write. I am a descendent of Matthew Wigginton of what was then Calhoun Co, Alabama. My great-great-great-grandfather was injured in a battle Sept 62 and captured in 63. We don't know what happened to him after that as we know his wife remarried and their son was given Major JW Wigginton as his executor of Matthew's estate right after the war. He may have died in prison of his wounds or some disease.
Do you have any info on the Wigginton clan? If so please email me!
Thank you
