Joe:

Eutaw, Alabama, is the county seat of Greene County, named at its establishment in 1838 in honor of the Revolutionary battle at Eutaw Springs, SC, by pioneers native to the Palmetto State. No engagement of any sort ocurred at this place during the War of 1861. Croxton's raiders were defeated on the edge of the county in April 1865, nearly twenty miles from Eutaw.
