Have you seen Leadbetter's report to Gov Moore regarding the capture of Mount Vernon?
I'm trying to find it because I saw the reply to Leadbetter. I had to laugh when I saw the mention of the repayment for the use of the steamer $1,500 (since I'm in finance for a defense contractor) and part of the request was deemed exessive
Do you have any information regarding the Selma? I've seen mention that the Selma transported state troops, but it doesn't appear to be the CSS Selma of Mobile Bay.
and I guess there were two Kate Dale one a steamer one a sloop...the sloop was captured and burned/sank in the Tampa area, but the steamer sounds like it was destroyed during the May 1865 explosion downtown.
