Re: 17th AL Inf Ancestor
In Response To: Re: 17th AL Inf Ancestor ()

Alan -- not sure I understand the reference to senior reserves...how do they differ from other units? I have not seen the family documentation on this yet, but I think it said something about the 17th AL "Regular" Infantry. I will confirm that.

We are having some trouble validating the family link since we do not know their originating county -- not sure where they came from. Here is what we know: Grandmother = Martha Rebecca Knight, born 8 Feb 1902 in Sedan (Wilcox County), daughter of James Claude and Zella Elizabeth Peavy Knight. We believe James Claude's father was Thomas Knight, but do not have any details on his county, birth/death dates, etc. so, it is a bit iffy. Another family member did this research some years back and we just ran across it (they have since passed).

Maybe that will help....Any additional detail that could be found to prove/disprove the assumption would be great (there I go again with assumptions!). Thanks again
