Great detail, George. Thank you. If I can confirm this man is really my gg grandfather, then I have a very interesting link for him to the other side of my family. They had four brothers in the war, one ended up at Pt Lookout, like this man, after being captured at Gettysburg. Another of the brothers served with the 3rd AL Cav that was also involved with the Sherman campaign (I think I have that right). So, that would mean Thomas' path might have crossed with two of my ancestors from the other side of the family (not literally, but figuratively, of course -- same vicinity). I'll keep looking to see if i can validate all that, especially to make sure he is, in fact, my gg grandfather. Thanks for the details!
