Re: 62nd Ala Reserves, Co. A
Thank you so much for the information, Mr. Martin. Things get very confusing sometimes for the amatuers among us. The 62nd it is. I had a maternal ancestor with the 62nd listed on his tombstone (William L. Burt). After I ordered his pension records, I found that he'd stated he was in the "8th" and the man was 44 when the war began. Thanks to you and Mr. Pitts, I realized the 8 must've been a transcription error-you guys found him in the 3rd reserves. Wonderful! Now to get that headstone changed.....
And since William M. Young was listed in Perry Co. in the 1860 census, I'm thinking the 20th is gonna be my best bet on him. I sincerely appreciate your time and trouble.
Regards
Rachelle
P.S. Have a VERY Happy New Year everybody!
