Re: Serching for unit info

Thanks Steve and to George Martin for the information . I have read the whole applications (all 49 pages) and it leaves a lot of questions for me.

Curiousity questions and ones I will continue to pursue:

1. When they disqualified Chandler's testimony (6/5/08) there was another one submitted by Thomas Colman (6/13/08) which I show no response too.
2. Were Stephen's and Colman's statements true and were they on the appropriate roster for whatever the unit was really called.
3. Geo. S. Chandler in the 4th Alabama was discounted but G.S. Chandler in the Alabama Reserves existed but never verified as being the same person.
4. Though they couldn't show B.F. Stephens in the 4th Alabama Reserves, they listed several other options. I would find the Georgia Reserve connection interesting given his statement was pertaining to the Girard AL / Columbus GA battle.

Obviously, there was a lot of misidentified units throughout the documents. Too bad no one ever pursued this post-1930's. Leave it to me, 80 years later and living in Manassas VA, to dig it up and try to find an answer. If you come across anything else that would clarify this situation or need someone to do some research here in Northen Virginia, please feel free to email me at fam_hound@blackhawke.net.
