Thanks Alan ... that is most interesting and starts to answer some questions ... Why couldn't the "War Department" in 1930 come up with that instead of saying "no such record". Just 1 letter or number can make a world of difference.

Just received a phone message and I am waiting to get an email sent to me from my mom who requested Hezekiah's Civil War record from the Museum here at the Manassas Battlefield in Virginia. They claim he was with the 1st (Reserves) Florida Infantry. I can't wait to see what they came up with because that info doesn't match anything I have. Suprises never cease to end. Will keep you updated as this becomes clearer ... if it ever will!
