Met with Col Morales while researching the 41st Alabama for his book. It's an excellent guide for anyone interested in details of unit service history. I would not be surprised to learn that he located additional information on Lieut Conner for his book.

A 1st Lieutenant received $90 per month. Receipts in his service file show that Conner had last been paid on Feb 29, 1864. That means he was carrying just over four months pay at the time of death.
